During negotiations in Kyiv, France presented proposals for financing the procurement of weapons and equipment to meet the needs of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
This was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valerii Churkin and a French delegation led by Jean-François Doc, the Special Envoy for Ukraine from the Directorate General of Armaments of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.
Valerii Churkin expressed gratitude to the people and leadership of France for their comprehensive support of Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. He emphasized that Ukraine is prepared for a ceasefire. However, Russia’s military buildup and offensive actions indicate its intent to continue the war.
"That is why, in order to repel the enemy, we are seeking additional funding to procure modern weapons, as well as investments in their production," Churkin stated.
The delegations also discussed potential funding mechanisms for new arms and military equipment supply projects for Ukraine.
