As of early July 2026, 42.74% of Russia’s total projected oil refining capacity has been taken out of operation as a result of strikes by Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“As of early July 2026, the campaign of systematic strikes by Ukraine’s Defense Forces has reached new indicators,” the statement said.
As a result of the attacks, 42.74% of Russia’s total designed oil refining capacity has been disabled.
Over the past month, eight oil refineries have been successfully targeted.
More than 60 storage tanks have been destroyed or critically damaged, of which 58% contained petroleum products and 42% contained crude oil.
Over the course of a year (since August 2025), total sector losses have reached $13.5 billion, the General Staff said.
“Consequences for the aggressor: fuel crisis, reduced production, and repair deadlines are constantly being postponed due to the inability to obtain necessary spare parts and equipment,” the statement added.
