Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and German Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius signed an implementation agreement on the joint production of BARS unmanned aerial vehicles.
This was reported by Ukraine’s foreign minister on the social media platform X.
The minister noted that the agreement was concluded following joint efforts by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence and Germany’s Federal Ministry of Defence within the framework of the Build with Ukraine initiative. The German side will finance UAV production during the first stage of the project, and all manufactured systems will be delivered to Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
Sybiha also discussed ways to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the industrial and economic spheres with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.
The minister noted that the recent massive Russian attacks on Kyiv once again demonstrate the urgent need to further strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.
The parties also discussed further joint steps within the framework of the bilateral and transatlantic agenda, peace efforts, and Ukraine’s progress on its path toward EU membership.
