The bulk carrier BC VANESSA, chartered by the UN World Food Programme (WFP), entered the port of Odessa to load 30,000 tons of wheat.

This grain is intended to ship to the population of Afghanistan that is suffering from a food crisis.

During the implementation of the Initiative on the safe transportation of agricultural products, 0.65 million tons of food have already gone to African countries.

The Government of Ukraine also decided to provide up to 50,000 tons of wheat as part of humanitarian aid to the population of Ethiopia and Somalia.

In total, since the start of the Initiative implementation, 169 vessels with 3.9 million tons of agricultural products have left the Ukrainian ports.
