Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva participated in a public discussion titled "The Process of Ukraine's Accession to the EU: How to Move Effectively and Quickly." The event was organized on the occasion of the visit by the Advisory Group on Ukraine's EU Accession.
Among the group’s participants were 11 former chief negotiators, EU commissioners, ministers, and ambassadors from the Nordic-Baltic Eight countries. They will assist Ukraine on its path to EU membership.
Ihor Zhovkva emphasized the importance of continuing to advocate for Ukraine’s EU accession both in Brussels and among the capitals of member states as each stage of the negotiations will require a joint decision within the EU.
He also emphasized that since applying for accession, Ukraine has made tangible steps toward integration.
"From now on, with the start of the bilateral screening, we have entered a more technical phase of negotiations, and the results of our work will drive success on this path. The next 5 years are a window of opportunity that we all (the EU and Ukraine) must use wisely, without wasting time," Ihor Zhovkva noted.
