On the night of May 26 (starting from 6:00 p.m. on May 25), the Russian forces attacked with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from Russia’s Rostov region and the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as well as 122 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya-type decoy drones launched from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m., Ukraine’s air defense had shot down or suppressed 111 UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other drone types, in the north, south, and east of the country.
Hits by 9 strike UAVs and missiles were recorded at 11 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at 3 locations.
