15-year-old Ukrainian driver Olexander Bondarev will debut in Formula 4 for the first time in history, as reported by Feeder Series.
Bondarev will participate in the final two rounds of the Italian Formula 4 championship ahead of a full season in F4 in 2025. This was confirmed by Williams Racing's Sporting Director Sven Smits.
"He will do the last two races of the Italian F4 Championship, and then he will prepare for F4 UAE in the winter to then participate in F4 UAE in January and February before he starts racing in Italian F4 in 2025," Smits said.
His debut in Formula 4 will follow the FIA World Karting Championship, scheduled for September 12-15 at the PF International Karting Circuit in England. Currently, Bondarev has already completed testing in F4 machinery, after which a more intensive programme will begin, according to Smits.
Ukrainian Olexander Bondarev became the first in history to join the Williams Racing Driver Academy, the British Formula 1 team Williams, in 2023. He began karting in 2014 at the age of five and became the youngest champion in the Rotax Max Challenge Ukraine at seven years old. In 2023, Bondarev became the first Ukrainian to win the CIK-FIA European Karting Championship.
