Ukraine’s Security and Defence Forces have disabled more than 51% of Russia’s oil refining capacity, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.

“Intelligence, analysts from the General Staff and the Ministry of Defence have assessed the impact of recent long-range strikes by the Security and Defence Forces. More than half of the enemy’s capacity has been disabled. This is the result of carefully planned, consistent and systematic actions aimed at weakening Russia’s war machine and destroying its military and economic potential,” the Defence Minister said.

The Ministry of Defence noted that recent strikes targeted the Moscow, Yaroslavl, Perm, Ilsky, Saratov and Syzran oil refineries, as well as the Kirishinefteorgsintez refinery and the refinery in Ust-Luga.

The effects of Ukrainian operations are not always immediately visible, but their impact accumulates and eventually becomes tangible, the ministry noted.

“Disabling 51% of oil refining capacity is a significant blow to the enemy’s economy, its ability to wage aggression and supply its military forces. Our deep strikes continue to bring the war onto Russian territory,” Khmara stressed.

The ministry said that long-range strike drones capable of hitting targets deep inside Russia are one of its priorities. This year, Ukraine has already tripled production and procurement, with plans to further expand its deep-strike capabilities.
