Ukrainian National Team won a record number of medals at the 2021 EUBC Schoolboys & Schoolgirls European Boxing Championships which was held in Sarajevo.


The national team of Ukraine took the second team place at the EUBC Schoolboys & Schoolgirls European Boxing Championships, which has finished in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The organizers are The Boxing Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Boxing Confederation.

The competition was held in Sarajevo. They featured 274 boxers from 25 countries (athletes aged 13-14).

The Ukrainian team was represented at the championship by the maximum number of athletes - 16 boys and 13 girls competed for the highest places.

As a result of the European Championship, our team won 23 medals, becoming one of the best teams in the Old World. A total of 16 domestic boxers took part in the final fights, winning a total of seven victories.

All the champions of the European Championship deserved applause, and the opening of the competition was the athlete from Dnipro Anastasia Taran (weight category - 60 kg), who knocked out a rival from Poland in the final fight and was eventually recognised as the best boxer of the competition. Also, all the spectators remembered the performance of the captain of the Ukrainian national team among girls Kira Makogonenko, who defeated the representative of Russia and performed the dance of the winner right in the ring with the Ukrainian flag.
