In Tallinn, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, together with First Lady of Estonia Sirje Karis and Estonia’s Minister of Education and Research Kristina Kallas, took part in the signing of memoranda on the accession of Estonian higher education institutions to the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies.
The Tallinn University, Tartu Applied Health Sciences University, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tallinn Health Care College, and Tallinn University of Technology have joined the initiative.
“Participation in the Coalition will expand opportunities for all members: it will add partners in different countries, events, courses, joint learning, and even job opportunities. And most importantly, all participants will gain an objective understanding of Ukraine and global geopolitics, both in history and in the present. This knowledge will help people and states make the right decisions,” said the First Lady of Ukraine.

The Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies has now brought together 81 institutions in 26 countries.
The First Lady of Ukraine also held a meeting with the First Lady of Estonia and thanked her for her support in implementing the Room for Childhood project in the Zhytomyr region. With the support of the Estonian Centre for International Development, homes were built last year for large foster families who lost their housing because of the Russian aggression.

Olena Zelenska and Sirje Karis also discussed preparations for the Sixth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, which will be held in Kyiv this year. The First Lady of Estonia confirmed her readiness to travel to Ukraine to take part in the event.
