At the Krakivets checkpoint, border guards from the Lviv detachment prevented the smuggling of 27 ancient coins to the Czech Republic, which were hidden in a bag with children's items.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

According to the State Border Guard Service, one of the oldest coins dates back to 1748. The condition of some others does not allow for the determination of their minting years without expert analysis. It is noted that the man, born in 1984, who regularly provides transport services, attempted to smuggle the ancient coins in a bag of children's clothes out of Ukraine.

The driver claimed he was unaware of the presence of items that might hold cultural or historical value among the luggage.

He stated that he was supposed to deliver the bag, which he received in Cherkasy, to the Czech Republic and was told it contained only children's items.

The coins were seized and sent for examination.
