The Ukrainian brewery MOVA from Dnipro won a gold and a bronze medal at the World Alcohol-Free Awards 2025. This is the first victory for a Ukrainian manufacturer in the history of this competition.
The Dark Non-alcohol beer (ABV 0.5%, IBU 13, Plato 7) won the gold medal. The judges noted its "aromas of roasted coffee, molasses, and toffee," as well as its "perfectly balanced taste, where the sweet malt harmoniously blends with just the right amount of bitterness."
The Non-alcohol beer (ABV 0.4%, IBU 30, Plato 6.7) won the bronze medal. Experts appreciated its "new world hop aromatics with subtle notes of malt and pine" and "hints of biscuit caramel."
The World Alcohol-Free Awards is an international competition for alcohol-free beverages (with alcohol content up to 0.5%), founded in 2022. The competition includes various beverage categories, including beer, wine, and other alcohol-free alternatives. This year, producers from Europe, America, and Australia participated.
"For Ukraine, this is very important because it's a global competition. We participated in the World Alcohol-Free Awards for the first time and immediately took home gold and bronze. Both of our entries received excellent feedback from the judges," commented Kateryna Zaitseva, the export manager of MOVA Brewery.
The brewery team also announced plans to further develop the alcohol-free segment and participate in next year's competition with new products.
