The new combat armored vehicle Inguar-3, developed by the Kyiv-based design and manufacturing enterprise "INGUAR," has successfully completed factory tests and is now moving towards state trials.
The company "INGUAR" has secured funding from the Ukrainian IT entrepreneur Mykola Udyansky to create the first prototype of its light armored vehicle.
This month, the company unveiled the armored vehicle Inguar-3, classified as an MRAP, which features a modular design with separate front and rear armor capsules. This allows for configuration changes to serve as a personnel carrier, pickup truck, or heavy weapons platform, as reported by "Militarny."
The vehicle is equipped with composite armor consisting of aluminum and steel plates. The aluminum components are modular for quick replacement and significantly reduce the vehicle's weight. The steel armor plate provides primary protection and effectively stops penetrating elements.
The company claims that the vehicle has a protection level of 3a/3b according to the STANAG 4569 classification, meaning it can withstand hits from armor-piercing bullets of 7.62×51 caliber, as well as shell fragments from 155mm shells at a distance of 60 meters. Mine protection under this classification involves withstanding the blast of an 8kg explosive charge (equivalent to the Soviet TM-62 anti-tank mine). The manufacturer emphasizes the enhanced protection of the vehicle's underbody against fragments.
For the driver, the vehicle is equipped with front, rear, and side-view cameras that replace mirrors, as well as a night vision camera.
Additionally, the vehicle features:
- An electronic countermeasure (ECM) module with frequency configuration capabilities.
- An automatic fire suppression system with optical sensors.
- Air filtration system for protection against chemical contamination.
- Autonomous cabin heater.
- Air conditioning system.
- Winch with a pulling force of 12 tons.
The Inguar-3 has a frame construction and independent suspension with planetary gear reducers. With features like inter-axle locking, front and rear differential locking, and a high ground clearance of 450 mm, the vehicle ensures high off-road capability.
The powertrain consists of a Deutz engine with a power output of 356 hp (1500 Nm), paired with an Allison automatic transmission.
Furthermore, it incorporates a centralized automatic tire inflation system, and the wheels are equipped with RunFlat inserts, allowing the vehicle to continue moving in case of tire puncture.
