An exhibition titled “Peace” has opened at the Bruder Klaus Museum in the town of Sachseln (canton of Obwalden, Switzerland), bringing together 20 works by Ukrainian and Swiss artists.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Switzerland shared the news on Facebook.
The exhibition explores the theme of peace—especially relevant amid Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
Curator Tetiana Kaliuzhna emphasized: “Many Ukrainian artists are now on the front line, and many are no longer with us.”
“In this context, peace is deeply personal, and its interpretation is highly individual. The artistic approaches vary and provoke reflection on peace and its meaning. In times of war, art has become a language of communication; Ukrainian art today speaks through pain and a silent cry. Ukrainian culture has become a symbol of the resilience of the Ukrainian people,” the embassy's post states.
Samvel Arustamyan, advisor to the Ukrainian embassy, underscored that culture is a space for the fight for a just peace.
“Through soft power, our artists share Ukraine’s history, identity, and uniqueness,” he said.
The Ukrainian Embassy expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Bruder Klaus Museum, particularly Christian Seidler, and to representatives of the canton of Obwalden led by Christian Schäli, for inviting 17 Ukrainian artists to participate in this important event.
