Andrej Plenković: There must not be even an “ink mark” regarding territorial concessions by Ukraine in a peace agreement

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković emphasizes that any territorial concessions by Ukraine in a peace agreement would create a dangerous precedent for Europe’s stability, so Kyiv must receive support to achieve victory and rebuild without compromising its sovereignty.

He made these remarks at the Ukrainian Breakfast during the annual World Economic Forum.

“All peace agreements and documents have two aspects: the first is when to sign them, because it’s about timing, exhaustion, and the historical consequences 5, 10, or 20 years later. My advice to you is not to leave even an ink mark that would indicate you might give up part of Ukrainian territory, because this, among other things, would also create a clear precedent for the future stability of Europe,” said the Croatian Prime Minister.

He added that for this reason Europeans should not forget that Ukraine needs support for victory and reconstruction, and “we, of course, must provide it.”
