Ukrainian karateka Anzhelika Terliuga became the champion of Europe-2022 in Turkey.
On May 28, in the Turkish city of Gaziantep, an athlete in the weight category up to 55 kg in the final bout defeated the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Ivet Goranova from Bulgaria - 11:3. The Odessan lost 0:2, but performed ippon twice and won an early victory.
Earlier, it was Goranova to whom Anzhelika Terliuga lost in the finals of the 2020 Olympics, the 2019 European Games and two world championships.
The Ukrainian climbed to the podium of the continental championship for the eighth time.
This is the first "gold" of Ukraine at Euro 2022. Bronze medal was won by Anita Serogina from Chornomorsk, who defeated Lynn Snel from the Netherlands (4:0) in the weight category up to 61 kilograms.
