Advisor to the Office of the President Aleksey Arestovich explained why President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin avoids trips to the front lines.

He spoke about this during a conversation with Russian human rights activist Mark Feygin.

“This is age and innate cowardice. Because he is one of those people who are clearly not from the KGB combat units. Because there were people in the KGB who went under bullets without batting an eye, performing tasks, although one can argue about these tasks. But he is not one of those guys; he has recruiting, and undercover activities, but everything is at the level of “bazaar for life.” I don’t know in detail the St. Petersburg part of his biography, but, in my opinion, he didn’t take much risks there either, being next to Sobchak And to command, to kill Litvinenko and all the others from the bunker does not pull a special risk, especially when you are behind a nuclear umbrella. That's how the character has developed. This is the case when the biography coincided with the character," Arestovich noted.

According to him, Putin, during possible visits to the front line, is not afraid of Ukrainians but of his own soldiers.

“He is afraid that his own people will bang him under the guise of being attacked by Ukrainian artillery. Therefore, I understand him. I suspect that he is afraid of his guards, his waiters, and secretaries. He is terrified of his doctors; he is afraid of everyone. And he lives in this habitual fear "The more evil you cause and intend to cause, the more you decay as a person. This is a very simple law. And the man who sits behind the nuclear umbrella and gives orders to destroy those, to capture those, he is afraid of death," the OPU adviser said.

In addition, he said that Putin does not go to the front lines because the Russian military will be scared when they see their president.

"Do you want him to go somewhere on the front line to inspire his soldiers with something? They will see who the commander really is … They will see him and be horrified. Small, pockmarked, and we are dying for it. It will be a total disappointment. If show the living Putin to Russian soldiers, then the Russian army will not only run away. They will understand that he turned out to be not only not a "father of the nation", but a pockmarked, oblique, crooked, with an uncut head, with overgrown temples … And this is what we are dying for? The main symbol of machismo, the main Siberian Crane, and so on? Oh, well, where. That is why he is hiding," summed up Arestovich.
