The moral defeat of Russia in Ukraine will come after the liberation of Kherson from the invaders.
In an interview with Israel's Best Radio, Aleksey Arestovich, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, expressed this opinion.
According to him, after that, the question will arise in Russia: "Why did we lay down a third of our army?"
"We took these cities, lost tens of thousands killed, all the equipment ⦠Do you understand that, according to even the most conservative estimates, they lost all the equipment, knocked out or destroyed, which was in quantity at the time of the invasion to us here? And what are all these spendings for?" said Arestovich.
"Then the question will arise about the goals of this war, preparation for it, adequacy, planning. They have already arisen," he added.
Arestovich is convinced that the situation in the Russian Federation will escalate after the liberation of Kherson or another "significant city."
Recall, on July 10, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk called on the residents of the Kherson region, who are under the control of the invaders, to evacuate and stressed that the call is related to concern for people's lives and their safety because the Ukrainian army plans to launch a counteroffensive.
In addition, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said President Volodymyr Zelensky had ordered the military to de-occupy coastal areas in the south.
Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian military's task is to de-occupy the state's entire territory.
