At the PinchukArtCentre, a presentation took place for the photo book "Ukraine: War Crime." The publication includes 366 color and black-and-white photographs by 93 photographers from various countries, depicting the war against Ukraine. The book is published by the FotoEvidence association, which focuses on documentary photography covering human rights, environmental, and social equality issues.
"Ukraine: War Crime" documents the "humanitarian catastrophe, investigations of war crimes, and reveals not only the cruelty of the Russian aggression and the displacement of millions of people but also the experience of photojournalists working in the conflict zone." The book also presents visual evidence of violence and war crimes committed by Russians in Ukraine.
The publication is complemented by 38 "personal" essays from the photographers.
The book has been honored with the 2023 International Photography Awards.
