Mariupol metallurgical plants Ilyich Iron and Steel Works and Azovstal of the Metinvest group appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office with a request to open criminal proceedings regarding the theft by Russian invaders of metal products that belong to the plants and which are systematically exported to the Russian Federation.
This is stated in the plant's official message.
"From open sources, the applicant became aware that representatives of the military formations of the Russian Federation (and persons controlled by them and terrorist groups) that occupied the city of Mariupol are taking out in an unknown direction and using at their own discretion, without legal grounds, the property of the plant," the statement says.
The enterprises note: the facts of the export of property are confirmed by the statements of the occupying authorities and collaborators - about the resumption of the work of the Mariupol port for the export of metal products and grain, as well as the tracking data of the sea vessel RM3, registered in the Russian Federation, which delivered the stolen metal to the port of Rostov-on-Don.
Plants ask law enforcement agencies to enter information about the commission of a criminal offense under Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine by the military armed forces and/or other military formations of the Russian Federation (persons controlled by it or representatives of terrorist groups controlled by it, the so-called DPR and LPR) to the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, start an investigation and take legal action following Art. 55 Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.
Recently, the First Russian Channel aired a story detailing how the occupiers are stealing Ukrainian products from the port of Mariupol: as follows from the story, they will first take out the Ukrainian metal, and then the turn of the grain will come.
Earlier, Metinvest stated that the Russian invaders were preparing to steal and illegally export from the port of Mariupol metallurgical products manufactured at the plants of Azovstal and Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, which is a serious international crime. In total, according to the company's press service, about 200 thousand tons of metal and cast iron are planned to be exported, the cost of which is $170 million.
