A well-known English artist and political activist under the pseudonym Banksy became an honorary citizen of Irpen.

This decision was made at the Irpin City Council session, Mayor Alexander Markushin reports on his Facebook page. The city has graffiti, which depicts a gymnast on a hole from a Russian projectile.

"The artist Banksy left his graffiti on one of the houses destroyed by rashists in Irpin, thus drawing the attention of the world community to the extent of the destruction of Irpin and perpetuating the history of Irpin's struggle and the idea of its revival with his work.

Andriy Bukin personally coordinated assistance with the railway evacuation of Irpin residents, the creation of a comfortable and cozy "Iron town" for the temporary residence of Irpin residents who lost their homes, the rapid restoration of the railway bridge across the Irpin river, the transportation of humanitarian aid and materials for the reconstruction of our city. On behalf of the Irpin community, I also thank Oleksandr Kamyshin, the chairman of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" for the constant and comprehensive support of the Irpin community."
