The situation on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is under the full control of the Defense Forces, with all movements of Belarusian troops occurring deeper within their own country. This was stated by Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, during the national TV marathon United News.
"We see that Belarus continues to escalate along the border with our country, attempting to convey that Ukraine poses a threat to Belarus... However, despite everything, the situation on the border remains fully controlled by all components of our country's Defense Forces, including the border guards, units of the Armed Forces, and the National Guard, which are also strengthening this direction," Demchenko said.
He added that the State Border Guard Service has not recorded any unusual situations directly along the state border or any provocations. Since this direction is important, the Defense Forces will respond in accordance with how the Belarusian authorities act.
"Anyone who tries to invade us from this direction will, of course, receive the response they deserve, and fire will immediately be opened," the spokesperson assured.
In response to a question about the situation on the border near the exclusion zone, Demchenko reported that the border guards do not observe any movement of equipment or personnel in close proximity to the border.
"Everything Belarus is doing, including gathering or moving its equipment, personnel, and various units, is taking place deeper within their country," the spokesperson added.
