Overnight on October 15, the Ukrainian Armed Forces resumed strikes on Russian oil refineries, targeting the Ryazan Oil Refinery.

Ryazan region Governor Pavel Malkov confirmed a fire at the facility, as well as strikes on a warehouse and vehicles at another industrial enterprise in the city. According to Malkov, no injuries were reported, and the extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The Ryazan Oil Refinery is Russia's third-largest refinery by capacity, capable of processing 17.1 million tonnes of crude oil annually. It produces more than 2 million tonnes of petrol and over 3 million tonnes of diesel fuel each year and is one of the key facilities supplying Moscow.

The refinery is owned by Rosneft. It was last targeted on September 6, after which it suspended operations.
