Volunteers and representatives from Cherkasy have purchased a significant batch of portable EW (Electronic Warfare) backpacks for the military.
The head of the regional military administration, Ihor Taburets, mentioned that they handed over 41 pieces of electronic warfare equipment to the defenders.
Additionally, they provided the Armed Forces with 10 different functional vehicles and laser pointers to better counter drones.
"We handed over 41 units of electronic warfare equipment to save our fighters from enemy FPV drones," Ihor Taburets explained.
An anti-drone backpack for infantry, capable of neutralizing FPV drones, was developed by the Ukrainian company Kvertus Technology.
The portable "AD COUNTER FPV BACKPACK" system blocks frequencies in the range of 850-940 MHz, which are commonly used by FPV drones.
The version with a backpack comes with a removable battery that provides up to two hours of autonomous operation, making it suitable for military operations requiring high mobility.
The manufacturer claims that the effective operating range is 300 meters, provided that the distance between the drone and the drone operator is 3000 meters.
After testing, the first samples began to be used on the front lines in 2023.
Specifications:
- Autonomous operation time: up to 120 minutes
- Effective operating distance: 300 meters (assuming the distance between the drone and the drone operator is 3000 meters)
- Total output power: 60 watts
- Removable rechargeable battery with a capacity of 24V 12 Ah
- Operating temperature: -20 to +60°C
- Equipment application areas: ground forces, medical battalions for evacuating the wounded, and other mobile groups.
