Detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine in the Odessa region uncovered illegal clothing production under the guise of well-known global brands. The workshop was located in the industrial district of Odessa.
The suspects counterfeited trademarks of more than 10 renowned clothing brands, causing significant financial damage to the rights holders.
The investigation revealed that a foreign national organized an illegal clothing manufacturing facility in Ukraine, where famous brand names and logos were applied to clothing without proper authorization from the rights holders.
The goods were sold both retail and wholesale online and at markets across Ukraine.
During the searches, BEB officers seized industrial equipment for clothing production and logo application, including a line for applying colored logos through clichés, a dryer, a heat press for transferring logos, an industrial fabric cutter, and a sewing machine with a control monitor.
Additionally, clothing with logos of globally recognized brand trademarks, fabric rolls, threads, thermal bags for clothing with fittings, logo samples, frames-clichés for machines, clothing patterns, documents, rough drafts, and more were seized.
The estimated value of the confiscated products and equipment used in illegal activities amounts to nearly 1.8 million hryvnias.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to establish the full circle of individuals involved in the illegal activity.
