Ukrainians can easily declare express deliveries and pay customs duties right from their smartphones.
This is reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
The ability to declare express shipments and pay customs duties directly from a smartphone has been implemented by the State Customs Service in the Personal Cabinet on the web portal "Single Window for International Trade".
This can be done by submitting an electronic customs declaration M-16.
To simplify the process, a number of service functions have been implemented:
- The majority of declaration fields are filled in automatically.
- Machine translation of the names of goods and other information into Ukrainian is done automatically.
- The possibility of selecting the product code according to the Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity (UKT ZED) is provided in many cases.
- Tax calculation occurs automatically.
- Autocompletion of missing details from previous information is provided, if the citizen has previously used this service.
After submitting declaration M-16, which needs to be signed using a digital signature (either with a digital signature certificate or through the Diia mobile application), the following steps are executed:
If the value of the goods exceeds 150 euros and they are subject to taxation, a QR code is generated. By clicking on this QR code or scanning it with the camera of a mobile phone, the assessed customs duties can be paid from one's banking application within seconds.
Tracking the status of shipment processing and the receipt of paid funds by the customs office can also be done online through the Personal Cabinet.
Of course, alternative methods of declaration remain available, such as declaration by the express carrier or through a customs broker, as well as personal (or by another person on behalf of the declarant) submission of a paper declaration to the customs clearance department.
However, the new online declaration service will be a real gift for citizens who value their time and seek convenience.
It is worth noting that Ukrainians returning from abroad should be aware of the rules for importing personal belongings into Ukraine. They do not need to declare or pay tax on them.
