Defence forces deploy new Ukrainian-made TALION anti-drone system

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has codified and approved for operational use by the Defence Forces the domestically produced TALION unmanned aerial system (UAS).

The system can operate both as an interceptor and as a strike drone. Its primary role is as a kamikaze aircraft designed to intercept enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.

The UAV can be operated manually or in semi-automatic mode.

In addition to carrying out air defence missions (“short-range air defence”), the TALION UAS can also be effectively employed against ground targets and for other tactical missions in the role of a strike drone, making it a highly versatile system.

It is capable of operating at both low and high altitudes, allowing it to engage virtually all types of enemy UAVs.

Its long endurance enables it to perform patrol and reconnaissance missions.

By combining the functions of an aerial interceptor and a conventional loitering munition, the system will enhance the capabilities of Ukrainian units in countering enemy drone aviation while providing highly accurate strikes against targets in the tactical depth of the battlefield.
