At the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, preparations are underway to evacuate Rosatom employees to Melitopol.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
As noted, the training is carried out covertly to avoid panic among the station workers.
"The evacuation will take place accompanied by units of the Russian Guard, which at 7:00 a.m. left Melitopol in a column in the direction of Energodar. According to Rosatom employees, it became known that, in the event of an IAEA mission arriving at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, some personnel would not be allowed to enter the station.
Now a critical situation has already developed at the ZNPP since the occupiers do not allow part of the employees to enter the territory. In particular, the personnel responsible for fire safety," the HUR said.
At the request of the government of Ukraine, the IAEA formed a mission to visit the power plant seized by the occupiers. It included 14 international experts.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, it was reported that the occupiers were shelling the previously agreed route for the IAEA mission from Zaporizhzhia to the ZNPP.
Also today, on September 1, the Energoatom company reported that at night, due to another mortar attack by the Russian occupiers of the nuclear power plant site, emergency protection worked, and the 5th power unit was turned off.
