Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal met with First Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Brave1, the Ministry of Digital Transformation team, drone manufacturers, and the largest volunteer foundations in Ukraine.
“The state is developing the market for Ukrainian interceptor drones. Yesterday, three manufacturers received contracts. Altogether, we now have four contracts worth over 3 billion hryvnias. We will continue to scale up these technologies,” emphasized the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the parties focused on supplying drones to Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines.
Particular attention was given to interceptor drones capable of countering Russian Shaheds. According to Denys Shmyhal, the President set the task to develop this direction, and four state contracts with manufacturers have already been signed.
“This week, we also talked with major state banks about lending to manufacturers under state guarantees. Additionally, the Ministry of Defense is negotiating with partners to attract funding for purchasing such interceptors. Initial agreements have been reached. We are consolidating efforts for security and a peaceful future,” noted the Ukrainian defense minister.
