Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held bilateral talks in Brussels with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell.

Dmytro Kuleba emphasized his appreciation for being invited by Josep Borrell to Brussels for this important meeting of EU ministers ahead of the new political season.

"Long-term peace in Europe depends on decisive and swift decisions in support of Ukraine, such as lifting restrictions on long-range strikes, strengthening air defense, and timely military assistance. We discussed how to implement these measures together. Ukraine's successes in the Kursk region demonstrate our ability to seize the initiative and win on the battlefield. We need more strong decisions to consolidate this success. I am especially grateful to Josep for his support in lifting restrictions on Ukraine's use of weapons against legitimate military targets on Russian territory," the Minister said.

He also noted that the meeting focused on Ukraine's progress in meeting the requirements for EU membership, such as the recent ratification of the Rome Statute, as well as the next steps for both sides to advance EU accession negotiations.

"We also coordinated our efforts in implementing the Peace Formula on the path to the second Peace Summit, as well as joint actions to increase political, diplomatic, and economic pressure on Russia and its allies. I am grateful to the European Union and its member states for their strong and consistent support of Ukraine," Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.
