An overnight drone strike on June 28 targeting a residential high-rise in Odessa has left two people dead and at least 14 injured, including three children.

According to the communications department of the Odesa region police, the number of wounded initially reported as nine has now risen to 14.

Among the injured are two young children, aged 3 and 7. Six people remain hospitalized, three of them—one a child—in serious condition. Others are being treated on an outpatient basis. Medical teams continue to provide critical care to those affected.

The Russian strike hit a 21-story residential building, causing fires on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors and trapping residents in their homes. Emergency crews later recovered the bodies of a couple killed when a drone directly hit their apartment.

The attack also damaged other residential buildings, an administrative structure, civilian infrastructure, and several vehicles. Fires broke out across multiple locations but have since been extinguished by emergency services.

Law enforcement and emergency personnel continue to work at the scene. A total of 66 police officers have been deployed to document the aftermath, collect evidence, interview witnesses, maintain public order, and offer psychological support to residents.

Authorities are still clarifying the total number of victims and the full extent of the destruction.
