The Afipsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region was attacked by drones.

According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, who reported on Telegram:

"Unknown drones attacked Krasnodar, as well as the Afipsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region."

He noted that this refinery is one of Russia’s key oil processing facilities, with a capacity of 6.25 million tons of oil per year.

It plays a strategic role in supplying fuel for Russian military equipment, particularly in the southern direction.

Its location in the Krasnodar region makes it an important logistics hub for supplying diesel fuel and aviation kerosene used by the army, Kovalenko emphasized.

In his opinion, this is why the Afipsky refinery is not just an industrial facility but also a crucial element of Russia’s military infrastructure.

In October 2023, the SSU also successfully attacked the Afipsky oil refinery, where fuel for Russian aircraft was being manufactured, with drones.
