Emergency power outages are in effect in all regions, according to Ukrenergo. Yasno, an electricity provider, announced that emergency power outages are in place in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions at the direction of Ukrenergo. Later, Ukrenergo stated that controlled emergency power outages are enforced in all regions of Ukraine.
The company shared this information on Facebook.
"This is a forced measure resulting from massive attacks by Russia. Unfortunately, there is no schedule because the outages are unplanned and necessary for urgent energy system balancing.
Please be patient. All energy workers are working non-stop to restore power as quickly as possible," the announcement said.
Regional energy distribution companies, including Sumyoblenergo, Vinnytsiaoblenergo, and Lvivoblenergo, also reported emergency power outages directed by Ukrenergo.
"Emergency power outages... Deficit," wrote Sergey Kovalenko, the CEO of Yasno, on Facebook.
The head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, Philip Pronin, also reported emergency power outages in the region.
"At the moment, 43.8 thousand residential consumers and 2.7 thousand legal entities are temporarily without power," he wrote.
Later, Ukrenergo officially announced that on May 14, from 21:00 to 24:00, controlled emergency power outages are enforced in all regions of Ukraine.
The reason is a significant deficit of electricity in the system due to Russian shelling and increased consumption due to cooling weather.
Additionally, on May 15, power capacity restrictions will apply to industrial consumers throughout the day, from 00:00 to 24:00, the company emphasized.
