Ukrainian Defence Minister Yevhenii Khmara met with Estonian Defence Minister Martin Herem to discuss the battlefield situation, the current needs of Ukraine's Defence Forces and specific areas for further defence cooperation.

Ukraine and Estonia agreed to continue developing their mutually beneficial defence partnership to strengthen the security of both countries.

Potential areas of cooperation include data sharing, the development of joint ventures and the implementation of projects that could simultaneously enhance the defence capabilities of Ukraine and Estonia.

The two ministers paid particular attention to Ukraine's experience in modern warfare, which could already prove valuable in strengthening Estonia's defences and countering emerging threats.

The Ukrainian delegation presented its experience in constructing modern fortifications, including underground protective structures.

"Ukraine is scaling up fortification solutions based on real combat experience. We already know how to build defensive structures and adapt them to new threats. I am confident that this expertise will be useful to Estonia," Khmara said.

The Ukrainian defence minister thanked Estonia for its consistent support, including its commitment to allocate 0.25% of GDP annually to assistance for Ukraine, its leadership in the IT Coalition and its active cooperation with other international partners.

Khmara reaffirmed Ukraine's readiness to deepen practical defence cooperation with Estonia and develop joint solutions to strengthen the security of both countries.
