The head of the Russian occupation administration in Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, has decided to involve Chinese businesses in building transport infrastructure in the occupied peninsula.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service.

According to the agency, during a recent meeting, Aksyonov announced preliminary agreements on the following facilities:

  • The Kerch seaport, which Russia actively uses for “gray” exports;
  • Infrastructure around Lake Donuzlav, where a Russian naval base is located.

To finalize the deal, the occupation authorities plan to invite potential Chinese builders to visit Crimea. Among the companies mentioned is the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), one of the world’s largest railway and infrastructure construction firms.

The total investment is estimated at 10 billion USD, according to the Foreign Intelligence Service.
