Crew members of the Gas Lisbon tanker, which was damaged near the coast of Romania, have for the first time shared details of the attack. According to them, the vessel was hit by three drones, after which the crew began evacuation procedures and provided assistance to the injured.

Two sailors rescued after the attack on the Gas Lisbon tanker off the Romanian coast said that the vessel was struck by three attack drones.
Georgian crew member Alexander Megrelidze said he was in his cabin when he felt the first explosion. According to him, the tanker was hit three times in total.
Despite the stressful situation, the crew immediately began emergency procedures. The sailors organized the evacuation and started assisting three injured colleagues.
Another rescued crew member, Alexander Arro, said the attack took place at around 11:00 p.m. In his assessment, the tanker was initially targeted by two drones: one strike hit the engine room, while the second hit the accommodation area.

According to Arro, the third drone struck the tanker approximately three hours after the initial impacts. He said Romanian rescue services arrived at the scene only four to five hours after the attack began.
During that time, the crew independently carried out rescue operations and worked to minimize the consequences of the damage to the vessel.
