Ukrainian defense-tech company General Cherry has become the first company in Ukraine to receive a license to establish its own private air defense system to protect private facilities and critical infrastructure from hostile aerial attacks, the company announced on Facebook.
The company offers a full-cycle solution that includes its own drone pilots, mobile response teams, and modern counter-drone systems.
The technological backbone of the private air defense system consists of General Cherry AIR and Speed interceptor drones, as well as the specialized BULLET anti-Shahed platform. The crews operate using remote launch and control technologies, along with automatic target-guidance systems.
In addition to directly protecting facilities, the company is launching a second line of activity—training and equipping other teams. The General Cherry Academy is already training pilots for Ukrainian enterprises under an advanced program and supplying them with the company's proprietary technological solutions.
Private air defense is an experimental government initiative that allows critical infrastructure operators to establish their own fire units to protect the skies. The project has already recorded its first combat successes.
