On the night of June 9, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out a strike on the “Savasleyka” airfield in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
During the night of June 9, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the “Savasleyka” airfield.
The Russian army uses it to launch attacks on Ukrainian territory. Fighter jets, including MiG-31K aircraft, which are carriers of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, regularly take off from this military airfield.
According to preliminary information, two units of Russian aviation equipment were hit (likely MiG-31 and Su-30/34 aircraft).
The results of the combat operation are being clarified, the General Staff emphasized.
