Russian troops failed to enter Kupiansk, the city remains under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Captain Andrii Kovalyov.

"All Russian forces' attacks in this direction have been successfully repelled. The Russian troops did not manage to enter Kupiansk. The city is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he noted.

Kovaliov added that on November 13, 2024, starting from 14:30, Russian forces attempted to break through the defense of the Ukrainian military in the Kupiansk direction. The Russia's assault groups attacked Ukrainian defense positions in four waves. In total, the Rusian forces used about 15 units of equipment, including tanks, armored fighting vehicles, and the UR-77 mine clearing system.

"It should be emphasized that some Russians were dressed in the uniforms of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This violates the laws and rules of warfare and constitutes a war crime," the spokesperson of the General Staff highlighted.

According to him, the competent and decisive actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped the Russian army advance, destroyed all of their armored vehicles, and eliminated a significant part of their personnel.

"All enemy attacks in this direction have been successfully repelled. After unsuccessful attacks and suffering losses in personnel, the Russian invaders did not attempt to repeat the assaults in the second half of the day on November 13, nor in the morning of November 14. We ask to trust only official and verified sources, including reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Kovalyov noted.
