Russian opposition leader Gennady Gudkov has voiced the factors that will prevent Putin from waging war for a long time.

Russia can actually support hostilities for two years, but the heroism of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can shorten this time.

This opinion was voiced in an interview with Glavred by the Russian opposition leader, ex-deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Gennady Gudkov.

"Let's calculate the finances. We know approximately how much Putin spends on the war in addition to the budget approved earlier. I don't remember the exact amount, but economists' calculations say this is about a year and a half. Well, let's assume that they still scrape something there. This is the maximum term for resources if we calculate arithmetically," Gudkov noted.

There are other factors to consider, he said.

"This is without taking into account other factors that destroy the arithmetic that I mentioned - the morale of the army, the spirit, courage, and heroism of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the growing assistance of the Western coalition, which remove certain barriers of fear. Western countries still have to be careful not to prevent a nuclear apocalypse. Therefore, the supply of weapons is gradually increasing to prevent a mortal risk. Therefore, all this will not allow Putin to wage war for a long time," summed up the oppositionist.
