Germany will support Ukraine with an additional €100 million in winter aid due to the ongoing Russian attacks on its infrastructure. This was announced by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock at the 5th Support Conference for Moldova in Chișinău, as reported by Rheinische Post.

"In Ukraine, due to the destroyed infrastructure, there is a lack of energy, including electricity, water, and heating. Moscow aims to make life as dreadful as possible for people in Ukraine," she stated.

Supporting Ukraine is "also supporting Moldova and European democracy as a whole," the minister added.

Baerbock noted that Russian leader Putin wanted to destroy Moldova.

"He achieved the opposite. Now Moldova, like Ukraine, is a candidate for EU membership. The focus is now on further stabilizing the country… The greatest concern among locals is that if Ukraine falls, Moldova will be next," she emphasized.

The head of the German Foreign Ministry spoke with Moldova’s President Maia Sandu. In the afternoon, the minister plans to visit the Center for Strategic Communication and the Fight Against Disinformation and Propaganda in Chișinău. According to reports from Berlin, a bilateral agreement on cyber cooperation is planned to be signed.
