Germany supports Ukraine in the military sphere, as evidenced by the decision to supply 5,000 protective helmets. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced this while speaking in the Bundestag at a debate on Russian military threats to Ukraine.

And Germany also supports Ukraine militarily. Namely, and I would like to state this clearly here - in order to fulfill Ukrainian wishes, we are now supplying protective helmets.

She added that the same applies to the issue of a protective bunker near Odessa. "A few days ago there was a call to us to support its restoration. And tomorrow the first study tour will take place there."

The German Foreign Minister also pointed out that Ukrainian officers took part in military education programs under the Federal Ministry of Defense of Germany, and "Germany's support for Ukraine within the framework of the NATO trust fund has amounted to over 8 million euros since 2014."

Along with this, the head of German diplomacy noted that official Berlin continues to adhere to the position regarding the non-delivery of lethal weapons to Ukraine.

German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht confirmed that Germany would provide Ukraine with 5,000 military helmets, which should be a "clear signal" that Berlin is on the Ukrainian side.
