On December 3rd, the first vessel arrived in Ethiopia as part of the Ukrainian humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine. 25 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat were delivered to the port of Doraleh.

Grain from Ukraine is a food programme initiated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. It is designed to prevent hunger in the poorest countries of Africa and Asia, as well as to support domestic farmers. The essence of the humanitarian initiative is the purchase of agricultural products by the participating countries of the project from Ukrainian producers and their transfer to the countries that need it most.

The program is implemented in partnership with the World Food Programme of the United Nations and under the coordination of the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.

The goal of the food program is to save at least 5 million people from hunger by the end of spring 2023.

Currently, more than 30 countries and international organizations have joined the implementation of the food initiative. More than 180 million US dollars were involved in its implementation.

Two more NEVA and RUBYMAR bulkers are also being loaded in the Odessa port, delivering 55,000 tons of humanitarian wheat for Somalia and Sudan.
