Thales, a French industrial company, intends to increase mortar shell production fourfold by 2026.
This was reported by the company's press service.
The company stated that production rates at its La Ferté-Saint-Aubin plant will be significantly increased from 20,000 munitions per year in 2023 to more than 80,000 shells per year by 2026.
Deliveries of 120mm shells under these contracts will occur gradually from 2024 to 2029, with the first deliveries planned for the fourth quarter of 2024.
Thales emphasized that their 120mm rifled shells are the only munitions that are equivalent in characteristics to 155mm shells.
