In Kyiv region, a charitable foundation led by Andriy Zasukha and the football club "Kolos Kovalivka" are building an inclusive residential complex for disabled war heroes. Construction began in October of last year, and the first residents are planned to move in by late May or early June. The Kyiv Regional State Administration is actively supporting the swift completion of the project.

The complex will accommodate veterans and their families who lost their homes due to hostilities or whose homes are located in temporarily occupied territories. It consists of 56 private houses, each covering an area of 80 square meters. The houses will undergo repairs, have kitchen furniture installed, and be equipped with bathrooms and toilets. Additionally, each dwelling will have a spacious terrace for relaxation and a land plot of 4-5 acres. All necessary utilities, including water, electricity, gas, and sewage, will be installed.

Situated in a coniferous forest by a lake, the complex meets all accessibility requirements to ensure comfort for people with disabilities. Pathways and driveways are designed to facilitate easy movement for residents. For the rehabilitation of veterans, an outpatient clinic will be arranged, along with a large recreational area featuring a square, sports grounds, specially equipped barbecue areas, and children's playgrounds. Furthermore, a dedicated bomb shelter for a minimum of 100 people will be constructed.

Special buses will transport children of the military personnel to nearby schools and kindergartens, with the costs covered by the donors. Local building material manufacturers have provided maximum discounts, allowing for the construction of even more housing units.

The community expresses gratitude to the charitable foundation of Andriy Zasukha and the football club "Kolos Kovalivka" for their tremendous support of our military personnel and their significant participation in the project at all stages.

The successful return of veterans to civilian life depends on each of us. Last year in Kyiv region, thanks to a subsidy from the state budget, compensation for housing purchases was provided to 271 war veterans and family members of the deceased, totaling over 600 million hryvnias. However, given the scale of the Russian invasion, the resources of the state alone are insufficient to meet all needs.

Those returning from the front lines essentially have to start their lives anew and adapt to it. Therefore, we are exploring all possible avenues to make this process faster and more efficient, ensuring that those who risked their lives and suffered injuries do not feel abandoned.
