At the initiative of the Ukrainian State Film Agency and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Italian Republic, Ukrainian Film Days will take place in the capital of Italy, Rome, from December 15 to 17, 2023.
The purpose of the event is to demonstrate that despite the war, during the most challenging times in the history of Ukraine, domestic cinematography not only managed to endure but also succeeded in developing amid the conflict. Filmmakers continue to produce new films that dignify Ukraine on the international stage. Over the course of three days, the audience will have the opportunity to see well-known fiction films and documentaries, including:
- Drama "Diagnosis: Dissent" directed by Denis Tarasov
- Animated film "Mavka: The Forest Song" directed by Oleg Malamuzh, Olexandra Ruban
- War drama "Myrnyi-21" directed by Axtem Seitablaev
- Historical drama "Dovbush" directed by Oles Sanin
- Romantic comedy "The Neighbour" directed by NatalÑya Pasenicyka
- Documentary film "Region of Heroes" directed by Artur Lerman
- Documentary film "Why us?" directed by Maria Springis
- Drama "Forebodings" directed by Vyacheslav Kryshtofovich
- Comedy "Lessons of Tolerance" directed by Arkadiy Nepytaliuk
The event will open with the Ukrainian historical drama "Diagnosis: Dissent," which received a special mention in the competition program at the Warsaw International Film Festival. The director of the film, Denis Tarasov, will personally present the movie to the audience. After the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to ask the director questions.
All films will be screened in Ukrainian with Italian or English subtitles.
The screenings will take place in Rome at the Cinema House.
The event is organized by the Ukrainian State Film Agency and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Italian Republic.
