According to the investigation, a 61-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Chuguyiv district volunteered to cooperate with the Russian occupiers at the beginning of the invasion.
In particular, the attacker:
- provided food to enemy soldiers;
- provided the occupants with housing;
- sent raiders to the houses of wealthy fellow villagers to seize household appliances and cars;
- he helped search his countrymen and ransack abandoned households.
It was established that the man had previously been convicted of burglary.
The SBU employees detained an enemy accomplice during the operational training of the de-occupied territories.
On the same day, the SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 111-2 (assistance to the aggressor state) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The article's sanction provides punishment in the form of imprisonment for 10 to 12 years.
Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention for the perpetrator is being resolved.
The detention was carried out by employees of the SBU Office in the Kharkiv region under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office.
