Russian troops carried out an airstrike on the Sumy region, resulting in the deaths of two brothers, aged six and 23.

According to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office and comments from Sumy Regional State Administration Head Volodymyr Artyukh on a TV marathon, on August 8, around 11:00 AM, the Russian forces used prohibited methods of warfare to strike civilian infrastructure in the Yunakivka community of the Sumy district.

"As a result of the attack, a 6-year-old and a 23-year-old brothers were killed," the prosecutor's office reported.

Head of the Regional State Administration Volodymyr Artyukh mentioned on the TV marathon that the occupiers shelled the village of Mohrytsia, attacking the settlement with aerial bombs.

According to him, the victims were in the schoolyard, which was also destroyed by the airstrike. The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with intentional murder (Article 438, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
