Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration Irina Vereshchuk, said that Putin intends to destroy Ukraine as a state.
In the ninth month of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, it is already obvious that it will be possible to start negotiations with the aggressor when the Russians leave the occupied lands.
This statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration Irina Vereshchuk, in an interview with Corriere della Sera, while noting that any territorial concessions that some Western politicians talk about are completely excluded.
When asked by a journalist when diplomacy will begin between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, she replied: "A change in pace can only happen when Russia leaves the lands it has invaded."
"Ukrainians are clear and unanimous in this: we will not trade our people and part of our regions, both in Crimea and the Donbas. Putin is not only focused on the land, and we have no illusions that a compromise is possible. Putin intends to destroy us as a state. It's a matter of life or death for us," she said.
