According to tentative estimates, up to 5,000 conscripts from the occupied Crimea were involved in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and, therefore in the war against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

As noted, the Representation analysed the problem of involving the inhabitants of the occupied Crimea in the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and prepared an analytical report.

"According to our data, the vast majority of the dead Crimeans are people aged 19-22, so we can conclude that at least some of them were conscripts. We are talking primarily about Sevastopol residents. According to rough estimates, in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and , consequently, up to 5 thousand conscripts from the occupied Crimea were involved in the war. Probably, a significant part of them are citizens of Ukraine. Also, a characteristic feature is the involvement of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people in full-scale aggression, in fact, to use the indigenous people of Crimea as "cannon fodder" and the creation of a fake picture about the alleged support of the Crimean Tatars for the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation. At the strategic level, we are talking about an attempt to create a maximum resistance to the de-occupation of the peninsula," the statement said.

As noted in the Representation, the death of Crimeans in the armed forces of the Russian Federation, in particular conscripts, did not become a catalyst for public discontent. Even the dead or "missing" relatives complain to the military command only in personal correspondence, instant messengers or posts on social networks.

“Meanwhile, according to the mission's information, the formula “missing” allows the occupation administrations to save on payments to the relatives of the dead military personnel. Local civilian personnel, including doctors, serve the participants in the war against Ukraine in Crimea and on “business trips” to temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions," the statement reads.
